Centretown, Ottawa Homes for Sale and Ottawa Real Estate

Centretown is a vibrant neighbourhood located in Somerset Ward, a city ward in central Ottawa. Its borders are loosely defined – the city of Ottawa officially designates it as “the area bounded on the north by Gloucester Street and Lisgar Street, on the east by the Rideau Canal, on the south by the Queensway and on the west by Bronson Avenue.”

Originally, Centretown encompassed the entire area west of the Rideau Canal, but for real estate and census purposes, the Golden Triangle sub-neighbourhood and downtown Ottawa was later on included.

Home to an estimated total population of more than 21,500 residents, Centretown features a well-balanced mix of residential, commercial and near its northern borders, government and office buildings. The area features a very picturesque atmosphere with streets lined with architectural marvels. Beautiful Victorian homes, eclectic shops and restaurants, and beautifully preserved churches seamlessly intertwine with scenic urban parks and views of the Rideau Canal.

Centretown is a fantastic neighbourhood to call home for families, empty nesters, or urban professionals. The area offers a convenient, laid-back lifestyle for residents, where everything is easily accessible, from schools to urban parks, shops to cafes and restaurants, bike paths to transit, and everything else you need.
